new board strange prolem

hello i would really appreciate some help

recently bought a new A7V8X-X with a nice shiny new barton 2500xp and new HS

fitted same
absolutely refuses to boot into windows xp get various error messages relateing to windows (usually differant every time)

will post normally and BIOS report correct CPU on new board
now gets to the OS choice screen the just blanks out not got another OS on the sys but managed to instal recovery console refuses to enter this as well
also tried to boot into Knoppix Linux just to see what would happen could not load this got an error message think it was a "CRC error " any body got any clues what this means ?

have tried reinstal windows xp and 98 on spare hdd no luck

have put old board back in (its an MSI KT 3 ultra 2 running a palamino 2000xp CPU) boots fine

have got a generic 350W PS that came with the case is also running a total of 2 HDD and a CD-rw and a seperate DVD drive

do not think the board is at fault cos it POSTs correctly

could someonre pls advise

Could it be that your memory timmings are too high or that it is set faster than it should run? And its probably not your CPU temp but what does it say you are running at in the BIOS?
