Problems with .gif from Photoshop to PageMaker

Well, Here at school im haveing a slight problem with takeing a GIF file in photoshop and putting it onto a PageMaker Document. It will not stay transparnet for some reason, I have the file set up so that some of the middle and around the edges are transparnet but in page make it just shows a white square on it.......

When you created the image, (assuming you did), do you create the image with a transparent background?

Yeah, i tired it twice just to make sure i did that. Could it have something to do with the schools deep freze software on it, and what ever other crap they have, these are brand new HPs with XP pro and sometimes it takes over 5 mintues to make a new document in Page maker.....

Any other advice, or ideas?
