I'm getting one of these MSI refurbs [Newegg], and it says it supports DDR533/500/466/433/400/333/266(Non ECC).

Question is, how do I actually use the DDR533 to its fullest capability?

If I just toss a P4 2.4Ghz 800Mhz FSB, am I going to be alright? Or will I need to mess w/ stuff to get it right?

What's the fastest memory I can use w/out overclocking?

Thanks,
Dean :p

Here are links to a few articles that will help you get the basics down, both on overclocking the P4 as well on the relationship between the ram and the cpu in the overclocking process. This should answer the questions above, as well as a few that you didn't even know you where going to have to come back and ask. :)

The first is a sticky in the cpu section, the others are articles I've found along the way.

This one is a very good discussion of memory.

Hope this helps with the basics. Let us know how your overclock goes.

Thanks for the links! I'm all ready to give it a shot once I get my new gear :)

All I need to do is figure out which mobo to get ;)
