KITTENS!!! KITTENS!!! KITTENS!!! KITTENS!!!
Hello all...

I was browsing through newegg.com, looking for my SATA RAID PCI card. Requirements I posess: 4 ports would be super nice. Fast. Compatible with windows XP and linux. Cheapish. Raid 0, 1, and 0+1 (0+1 being least important).

So I was looking at these two:

^^ $26, cheap as hell. Unknown *nix support. don't know about quality?

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=16-115-015&depa=1

^^ $86, Highpoint Rocketraid. Highpoint, good name, familliar, linux support. Quality awesome.

So is there any justification to the $60 price difference? :( for my uses at least? I just want to set my 2x 250GB WD SATA drives in RAID 0, and cruise on either Gentoo or Windows XP.

If there are any other suggestions either, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
