Start off with the 2600+ AMD barton mobile, this thing will hit around 2.4 to 2.5Ghz with decent cooling, the mobo can be have for 30 dollar in the refurb section (shuttle mobo nforce 2 chipset)

Comming up right behind is a 2400+ 35W mobile, lol i have no idea what these can do, i heard some guy trying to grab a bunch because they are suppose to be "great"

Celeron D 2.8 Ghz, i've been looking for one of these for a long time, they should OC to the range of 3.5 to 3.6 without problem, i do not like the heat out put that these guys put out, mobo will cost me 50 bucks, also from the refurb section, i have no idea how this will match against a barton @ 2.5ghz

A64 2800+, newcastle, "AX", these will do about 2.4 i believe, I have no idea what mobo to get because there's been tons of disagreement of which to get :), these are relative fast i believe, but this chip has a very low multiplier, that can be a huge problem, plus the mobo cost is gonna raise the price up

The end is the celeron with the "J" these are the E0 stepping of the prescott i believe, they run cooler than the older brother, the socket on this one is the new T socket, that means more money lol, these things will probably go up to 3.8 to 4.0, very new stepping.

I've been posting alot of what CPU to choose, i'm very indecisive lol, and so far nothing has satisfy me, i tried a couple duron, sempron, my friend got a P4C 3.0ghz at stock but it's not fast at all (he got crappy components though lol). I'm just tired of waiting for venice, and i have no idea how the price will be shape when it comes out, and the mobo price is very stiff IMO, i can afford it but i really don't know how much of an edge it has over the AXP setup to justify the extra 100 dollar cost.

The celerons aren't much good unless you take them really high. The AXP @ 2.6Ghz will eat them alive up to 3.5Ghz, but i doubt if you can take the Athlon that far.

i'm an all rounder user, i edit movie, convert, games, basicly alot of stuff :), that's why i'm looking for an over all CPU and not leaning toward a particular tasks.
