Booting into safe mode

my feinds want to know how to boot into safe mode. he tryed f8 before booting but that just says
HDD01
HDD02
LAN

any ideas?

try f8 after the bios screens.

F5 also works.

yes do this after the bios. Also try selecting HDDO1 kind of looks like windows is asking whcih pc on the netwrok to load. So HDD01 I would think means Harddisk drive 1 could be wrong though since I have never seen this. Also make sure f.lock is not on.(if it is try it with it off)
