IF I change the battery for the bios will I have to re-flash the bios.

Nope! you will have to reset any variables and tweaks in the BIOS you might have played with however, as it should drop back to default settings when you change the battery. But no flash needed.

Great that is what I wanted to hear, This is for a friend's Compaq putter and I have no idea what the MoBo is, that info will save me alot of research.
