hello i have a 450 mhz k6 and i was wondering if it could knock out over 700 mhz if oced?

I highly doubt it, that's a 55% overclock. If you're lucky, an overclock will get you 30-40% more MHz(That's assuming no extreme cooling solutions). 600MHz is much more likely.

I have had a 450 and a 500 to tweak.
My 450 did 105x5
and the 500 did well 500. Wasa friends computer and it gave us nothing.

If you have a later K6-2 you might get some good results, but the early ones didnt like me much at all

got my k6-2 533 to 550 due to limiting 100fsb motherboard (5.5x100)
it wouldnt work on 6x100 or 5.5x105
mounted stock athlon xp cooler on it with load temps of 22 degrees celcius (lol)
so cpu is not the only limiting factor here

ok thx so around 550 it could do? hmmm just wondering....id liek to toy wiht it to get exp so if i ever oc my main rig i dont fry it.

I never had good success OCing a K6-II.
I had a 550MHZ and still have 533mhz.
Neither was stable above 550mhz even with increased voltage.

Thinking back on it maybe heat was holding them back.
A good socket A cooler will help.

No. Most 550's won't even hit 650. If you get 550 you're very lucky.

Couldn't even get 500 mhz stabily with my K6-2 450 mhz processor. Never mind 700 mhz!!! It was locking up when gaming at 500 mhz.
