I'm puzzled as to why the OCZ memory (which I believe is BH-6) in rig2 seems so much slower than the Corsair memory in rig1. Both are running 2 2 2 5.

The Corsair seems to have a sweet spot at [email protected] where it shows a read rate of about 6050Mb/sec in Everest.

In order to get the same bandwidth from the OCZ, I have to run it at [email protected] (I've read the memory loves volts, I just hope this is true :) ). And at this voltage I'm using a fan to help cool the modules as they get too hot to touch without one.

I know there are dozens of other memory settings which I haven't really fiddled with yet as I have little or no idea what they do.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks.

Ok, I've flashed the BIOS to 510-3 in the manner you suggested. The figures are as follows:

Corsair @218 2.2.2.5
Int calc 6499Mb/s, flt calc. 6428Mb/s

Oops, don't know what happened there!

Corsair @218 2.2.2.5
Sandra - Int calc 6499Mb/s, flt calc. 6428Mb/s
memtest - 2681Mb/s

OCZ @218 2.2.2.10
Sandra - Int calc 5857Mb/s, flt calc 5777Mb/s
memtest - 2582Mb/s

OCZ @250 2.2.2.10
Sandra - Int calc 6716Mb/s, flt calc 6657Mb/s
memtest - 2962Mb/s
