i have recorded some vhs video onto my computer and would like to burn to dvd. problem is the file size is 7.1gb and obviously wont fit on single sided dvd-r. is there a programme or ne that i can split the video in 2 parts, making them around 3.5gb each?

Are you trying to put the video into a dvd to watch on the tv, or to share between computers?
If just sharing the file, and if you have the time/patience, reencode the video.
Otherwise, if its avi/mpg, use vdub to cut. If that doesnt work, try HDTV2MPEG.

yeh i'm trying to burn to watch on the tv, thx for the quick reply

In that case, is it avi or mpeg?
Either way, try to shove the video into NeroVision Express to create a dvd to watch on the tv.
I am not sure if it can split the video, but you can try.
