Due to a recent classifides change, many users have to change their email addresses to point to the email address provided by their ISP. As stated in a classifides feedback thread, many users don't like the service that their ISP provides in relation to email. In my experiences, ISP email services tend to be spam laden and don't function as well as third party alternatives such as Gmail, yet tend to function better than your average Hotmail account. In addition, my college has horrendous email service that makes me never want to trust my campus email address.
However, I thought to ask the question to forum users... do you like, or use, or trust your provided ISP email address? After all, this is the address that you recieve because you are indirectly paying for it, so it should be of the highest quality. Ironically, the reverse seems true (that the provided email address is of a pretty low quality). Of any email provider, I would think that I could trust my ISP or local college to provide excellent service, yet those are the lowest on my list to entrust with my electronic communications. I wonder if the feeling is mutual around the internet... or if it is just me...
Note :: I didn't know where to put this thread, so I decided to put it into Internet, Networking, and Security since it directly relates to the internet, not too much for networking, and also since the issues relating to email often can to security (for identity purposes, in relation to spam and reliability). However, this thread may still not be in the best of places... oh well...
