ok my friend is getting an AMD Athlon 64 3800+ and a DFI UT Lanparty NF3 Ultra-D and he has 4x512 Kingston PC3200 and he has EVGA nvidia geforce 6800gt 256 bit 256 mb

and he needs a psu because he only has a 400 watt now, hes thinking about the Antec modular 480 watt i told him no way but... i dont know... i dont think money is an issue so what do you suggest?

For the DFI boards you need at THE MINIMUM 480watts and 32amps on the 12volt line (single or dual combined)

I run 580watt with 34amps on my 12v lines...

It's an HEC AcePower.. Very nice, very stable power.....sli ready etc etc...

The Antec NeoPower is not a great choice. With money not being an issue I would get an OCZ PowerStream 520w or a Seasonic S12-600. I love my S12-600, its very cool and quiet. I paid 138.00 shipped for my S12-600.

Thats not really true. The Fortron ax500 (460w) would work just fine. It has dual 15A 12V rails.

That is false. DFI requires a native 24-pin 480W PSU. It does not have to have 32A.

If he plans on doing some heavy overclocking look at the OCZ Powerstream 520w or a Sparkle FSP550-60PLG.
