Whats better? a 3700+ or a 4000+ San Diego?

I was thinking about selling my current X2 4400+ chip simply because I'm not taking advantage of the whole dual core thing so I was thinking about getting a different chip.

my goal is to get at least 2.8GHz while on air cooling. so my choices are either a 3700+ or a 4000+ chip. both would be in San Diego flavor.

the 4000+ SD chip is roughly $100 more than the 3700+ chip so I was wondering if it'd be worth the extra $100 or not?

please discuss.

honestly for cooling on air with an XP 120 the 3700 is your best bang for the buck, the 3700 or 4000 for that matter will usually not give you much higher clocks ON AIR than I have in my sig...

I can get mine up to 2.85 stable but the heat is excessive for me, its only 45C load but the way i have it now it never breaks 38C and its a nice 24/7 clock. I dont see the logic in anyone buying a 4000....

My 3700+ SD does 2.85 Ghz on 1.6v. It's load temps at that speed are about 40c. I run it daily at 2.8 Ghz on 1.56v, and load temps are 36c.

Don't even bother with the 4000+. The 3700+ will overclock the same and be cheaper. I don't understand why you would want to downgrade from an X2 though...
