Im really looking for 2 speaker and a Bass system. Something great for gaming and great for music. Any suggestions... no more than 250 dollars would be my mind set.

My gut says you could get something better for the money. Logitech makes great systems, Klipsch is also great.

Something around this:

I'd say head over to your local best buy/circuit city/compusa/whatever and demo some speakers. We can talk about speakers all day, but each set will sound a little different to each person. Write down some models you like and brands, and go from there.

When it comes to a 5.1 system I beleive that Logitech has the edge, but in the 2.1 arena the Klipsch Pro Media is the stand out.

Klipsch 2.1 promedia or you can get the 5.1!!! i just bought a klipsch for 150 and i got to say, I LOVE IT!

Here is what I did, but I already had a SONY receiver. I bought some new CERWIN VEGA E710's Floor speakers $129...... GET SOME!

CERWIN VEGA E710
# Delivers 200 Watts of sound out of a 10" Woofer inside a diecast aluminum frame
# 5 1/4" midrange
# Dome Tweeter
# Midrange & tweeter level controls
# 8 Ohms

Man I've played Call of Duty with just one...................OMG this will drown any of that little logitech crap they call "systems". If you have a receiver, this is the ultimate way to go IMHO.

The CERWIN VEGA E712 Floor Standing Speaker - Black is only $159 (12" sub)

MP3 Adapter, Connects CPU To Stereo, upto 50ft for $14
----> Sound card ---> receiver ----> speaker

sony and cerwin vega? pffffft

how bout a onkyo/denon/yamaha receiver and a good bookshelf or floorstanding deal not from sony, cerwin vega, or brands like that, and a velodyne sub

this thread should be helpful if you decide to get a receiver and speakers:

http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=406103&highlight=$150+speakers

with a $250 budget, this is a nice receiver with a 1 year warranty for $100 shipped, a/b speaker setup so you can use b for the stereo you want in one room and the option to use surround in another room:

http://www.jr.com/JRProductPage.process?Product=4027006

and the Infinity Primus 150 bookshelf is on sale at onecall.com for $60 a piece with free 3 day shipping:

http://www.onecall.com/ProductDetails.aspx?sHist=12-110,4-2010$10122&Sort=lowPrice&id=23707

and voila you have a nice stereo system for $220, no sub though, velodynes are $$$, however the infinitys go down to 58hz so what the hey

I use a pair of Athena AS-B1 bookshelfs coupled with the cheapest receiver i could find, and it sounds amazing. If you want the best sound possible, a home theatre setup will sound immensly better than a set of computer speakers.

I really like my Paradigm Titans with my Panasonic XR55, but that's out of your price range. Athena AS-B1s, a cheap receiver and that one 12" powered Dayton subwoofer from partsexpress, however, is not outside your budget.
