Sound selections for Gaming

I'm looking for some excellent gaming speakers and a sound card. All I do is gaming on my PC. I was thinking of getting the Logitech Z-5500s and the X-fi xtreme music sound card. Does this sound like a good combination or should I go for something else?

Is it worth it to go up to 7.1? If so, what 7.1 speakers should I grab? Thanks.

Also, I don't want to surrender my balls in pricing. For instance, i can't afford $500 Creative Labs EAX 7.1 unless it is absolutely worth it.

Should I get the Audigy 2 Gamer over the x-fi xtreme music? I read in the forums that the x-fi xtreme music was actually best for gaming but I see others saying that the Audigy 2 is best. Which one should I go for? Thanks.
