Am i hittin my swap???

OK well yesterday i was playing bf2 with quite a bit of programs open and i realized that it started to get all laggy and my hd was going crazy ( i didnt have n e programs open that would use the hard drive like this... the light was constantly on) would upgrading from 1 to 2 gigs of ram get rid of this prob?
