I'm upgrading my mobo to a DFI Ultra D and my processor to an Opty 165.

The big question is which AIW to get. I have a 9800 AIW now, but since I am switching to PCI-Express and the 9800 is aging, I'd like to get a new one.

I have 3 choices: X1900 AIW, X1800 AIW, X800 AIW.

The prices on newegg are $439,$339, and $299 respectively. I think the $40 extra for x1800 is worth it, but is the jump to the X1900 worth it? The X1900 AIW only has 256 MB (instead of the norm 512), so I'd assume the X1800 and X1900 would be relatively close in terms of performance. I haven't seen anything comparing the AIW cards, bit I did compare some 3dMark05 numbers for the X800 and X1800 AIWs on Tom's Hardware and the X1800 has about a 2000 point advantage, but I have no clue how good the X1900 AIW is comparatively with reduced RAM.

A couple quick notes: I will/do OC. I'm not an all out hardcore gamer (hence the AIW series) so Crossfire or SLi isn't really needed/wanted, nor is the top of the line.

With all of that said, what would you pick? I am leaning towards the X1800 myself.

I'd say go for the x1800, because the x1900 isn't worth the extra 100$(even more so with the reduced ram)..
