When booting up computer the following error comes up.
Please advise how to correct this problem.
Thankx,
Bill

Explorer.exe
Application Error
Host integrity check failed
The application failed to initialized properly
(oxc0000005)
*Screen has background but no icons
Also, under My Recent Documents – nothing shows up

Copy and paste the exact error from the Event Viewer log... Start | Run | Type eventvwr.msc, and click OK | Check both the Application and System logs for the Explorer.exe error you posted | Right click the error and select Properties | Copy and paste (use the "Copy to Clipboard" button under the arrow butons in the "Event Properties" window).

no.
small window called [create new task].
c:/syscheck.exe
can hear it running. hard drive
cycling through something.

Dell tech support said to turn the computer off, re-start and hit F8 and go into safe mode and click on restore and follow the prompts and I did that and presto, everything is back to normal.
