WD SATA including 74gb Raptor at BB

The 74gb Raptor was 129.00 (IIRC) and the 160GB was on sale for only like 60-70USD.

Neither had a MIR they were instant.

Picked up 1 160, and a few other odds and ends in my biweekly wander through there.

Whoa, when was this? Was it on a clearance table or something?

I see that the 74GB is $130 on the site without rebates, but the 150 is still 350.

Its a 160 on sale so probably NOT the raptor.

but I wonder if it is the same as the Dell 160. The 150 raptor has the last 10 gb blocked to increase the read time..

no biggie I wasnt clear on that in the first post TBH.

Not a bad deal on either side though if you need replacement drives for something.

160 SATA replaced 1 100Gb and 2 40Gb drives, which are getting moved over to the linux rig to replace a VERY LOUD 30Gb (audible through a closed door loud).

That's the 'old' 74GB Raptor with 8MB cache not the more recent 16MB revision. You can find them listed at multiple online stores through something like pricewatch for roughly the same price although those are for OEM bare drives. Definitely a good drive just not an uncommon price
