PS2 HD with AR Max Evo?

ok i was lookin to stick a hard drive in my PS2 and use HD Advance or HD loader for home brews and such and because....well i can...but some one told me you can use a Action Replay Max Evo....the one with the thumb drive...or just a AR Max and your own thumb drive and get the same result.

does any one know how to do this?
