Vista RC1: Software Compatability Thread

Anyone adding to this thread, please specify what problems you ran into with software that does not work

-Live for speed
-OpenOffice.org 2.0.3rc7
-Power ISO 3.3
-Quicken 2007
-Sun Java has a little issue, but it still works.

-ACDSee Pro 8.0.6
-Mcafee Viruscan 8.0 (Instant blue screen after logging in)
-Nero 6 Ultra (going to get the 7 trial later, may be my MB drivers, sees burner, but errors out immediatly when burning)
-Nero Premium 7.2 (No info yet)
-Partition Magic 8.05

A few things have been mentioned in other threads, so I thought it would be nice if we could compile a list of things working/not working so far in RC1. (I only speak for 32bit, gave up on 64bit drivers for time being)

I hope to expand on this list ALOT this weekend.

* All software versions are current unless specified.

So far i have had pretty good luck most of my games work
HL2
Warrock
Battlefield 2
Live for speed

one program that you do not want to install is the EzTune LCD software. upon rebooting after installing my lcd went haywire and the computer locked up, had to boot into safe mode and delete the program.

Well, if it grows much I will break down into catagories and do some color coding etc. I am at work right now so I will do a cleaner job at home.

Programs that have worked for me so far are:

Power ISO 3.3
AVG Free Anti-Virus
WinRAR 3.5
WinDVD 7
Lastest Acrobat Reader
Sun Java has a little issue, but it still works.
OpenOffice.org 2.0.3rc7
Quicken 2007

steam worked better for me in vista for about 3 days and then all of a sudden everytime i tried to launch a game i got that stupid old "the game is currently unavailable" bull crap!

So far I haven't run into any problems with software, but I haven't installed all that much yet. One problem though. When I tried to shut down the other night, it froze up at the desktop. The taskbar was gone and all icons were gone (just that period after that and just before the spash screen with the "shutting down" message.)
I had to reset and then shut down again. No errors given or anything, so that was weird.

Something I was very happy about was drivers. Every driver worked properly right away. My audio drivers didn't install at first, but windows update provided them within minutes after installing. I was especially happy that my wireless card driver was available, I was worried about that. I got the 32 bit version BTW, though I may try the 64 bit one just to see how that goes.

Since all versions of Nero are a no-go, what software will burn an ISO image on Vista?

Windows will burn copies of files but not a bootable ISO image TTBOMK.

I'd try PowerISO v3.3. It's a pretty decent program and it's declared working in the original post.

im using a copy of nero 7.2 lite, works fine for me
