My X2 will run 2.85ghz or so with about 1.6v.But is this to much for everyday use?I have a Zalman CNPS 9500 AM2.Also temps were a toasty 42c just at ide.

Yeah, thats a big OC from 3800 stock in terms of Core Clock and the voltage.

My 4600+ AM2 OC to 2.8 runs fine with really good temps and I have gthe same cooler as you ( I think) But I also have an awsome cooling case that keeps everything frosty as well as an in room Air conditioning unit.

yeah i was going to say.

im running my 4200+ at 2.64 and runing prime95 as we speak as well and its only 2.2 stock so thats nothing close to what your running.

i would drop yours down to 2.6 or mabey even 2.5 unless you have it cooled by water.

if you have the chrome colored one we have the same one.And that case you have is the case i really want.I just cant put out around $170 for that case with shipping atm

Although I also think that as long as your temps are in control you can leave it like that, I'd be a little reluctant to keep 1.6V for everyday use on air, maybe bring it down just a notch to 1.5V.

I dont think you benefit much (if any) daily usage running cpu @ 2.8ghz vs 2.7ghz. I suggest lowering vcore to run stable @ around 2.7ghz. Your chip stays cooler and last longer.

for most ppl 1.55v on air is the max they feal safe with . I ran a 3200+ winy @ 1.6v for 2 years witha xp-90

OK now for some reason nothing over 2.5ghz is stable at default vcore.I dont care if its 255x10x3 with 1.4 or 1.5 volts .But on auto at 250x10x4 is 100% stable this makes no sense.Maybe i need a diifernt bios

Well i figued it out.I forgot to set the dram voltage ..lol At 250x10x4 cas 3-3-3-8-T1 it was fine with 2.6volts.But any higher it needs its rated voltage of 2.75v.So im now stable at 270x10x3 with 3-4-4-8-T1 and 2.73v and vcore of 1.4v

Looks like it's time to go higher then! Try 1.5v and make sure your ram doesn't hold you back :)
