HP DL380 G1 RAID

Does anyone have any experience with the RAID controllers that came with these servers? What kind of performance can I expect? I currently have a Dell PE 2300 and the RAID performance sucks. I am thinking of upgrading and was wondering if these are any better.

Also any recommendations on an OEM server that can be found used cheap and has good RAID performance?
