It looks like you're building a gaming rig. Right? If so, I recommend two raptor hard drives in a RAID configuration. Also, you might consider getting an SLI mobo (ASUS is good). Otherwise, you're right on.

Post script: My son works for Intel and writes software to test the newest desktop and laptop cpus. He tells me Intel cpus are the best. Fast, low power consumption!

Don't look at my sig cause I got into AMD before my son joined Intel! :D
 
I won't be SLI'ing it up with this rig.

Yes it is for gaming primarily (and lan's).

Raptor drives = not needed, they wont increase your ingame speed noticably and are not worth the $ in my situation imo.

I agree that the raptors in RAID would not improve your in gaming speed, but they will significantly improve boot up and game loading.

I have heard that boot up times in seconds can result vice minutes for non-raptor/raid.
