How do you turn your psp off!?!? broken?

Since i got my psp from the launch date i follow the manuals advice and just tap the side switch to put it into sleep mode.

Then when i want to use it again i just tap the switch and its on. I never fully hold the switch to turn it off 100%.

The manual says only to turn it off 100% if you wont be using it for a long period of time.

im just wondering if putting it into sleep mode every day is hurting it?

Not really. I always just put mine in sleep, then leave it in a drawer for for a couple weeks then pull it out and want to play but have to plug it into the wall because the battery is dead. Guess I should turn it off when I'm done, huh.
