12706 3DMarks with this machine

Hi
I builded up my new computer couple of days ago. Now i overclocked it with settings 8 x 400MHz 1,35v. When i had default clocks 2.4GHz, temp showed up 30C in idle and ~35C in full stress. When i clocked my CPU to 3.2GHz it showed idle temps 30C and stress temps 39C. I have Thermalright extreme 120, and bottom of it has been "CNC machined", so its flat and copper appear. I check those temps with ASUS PC Probe 2.0.

I runned orthos about one hour and temps was ~37c. Then i tried 3DMark06 and i got 12706 points. Is those good points with this machine:

- ASUS P5K-E
- Q6600 (G0 L718A248) @ 3.2GHz (8 x 400MHz and 1.35v)
- 2GB OCZ 6400 Platinium kit
- PNY GeForce 8800GTX 768MB (Default clocks)
- Cooltek 600W power

I thought that could those temps be right? If default temps and oc temps are about the same? SuperPI 1M, runned in 16seconds. And is those points OK with this machine?

Edit: And my OS is Windows XP 32bit.

that score is right what it should be... but check the temps of your q6600 with Intel thermal analysis tool (just google it its like the first or second one) and it will give you a much more accurate measure of temp on your cpu.

Big thanks. I'll give a try with this tool. It sounds strange if temps only grows 5c in this case. Have to try this tool, and check if this goes 9x 400 - 3,6GHz.

Yes. ITA and Core Temp programs shows temps right. My cores are all ~44 at idle and 10c more in stress. Thanks for your help

I get 11380 marks stock 8800GTX, 3.2ghz oc E6600 conroe. That is where it should be at. I overclocked my 8800GTX to 650 and 1050 and got 12410 marks. OC that 8800 let's see what marks you get it...I'm thinking at least 14k?

How much you think i can raise clocks with default cooler?

All depends. I guess i wouldnt want my cores to go much above 65c if i could avoid it. Thats just me.

Here is my yesterday results. I didn't remember to put GeForce settings to image, but core was something like 590MHz and memory 950MHz (Defaults 575 & 900). My first test was 600 and 950 but 3D Mark gived error every time. But i am happy with this. And those result are with air-cooling. Im just beginner clocker and FSB

RAM is giving me biggest headache

. I don't understand how it works.

I get 11965 with a Q6600 @ 3ghz, and my 8800GTS 320mb at 600/1000. I'm about to try 3dmark at 3.2ghz. will come back with the result

EDIT: 12,065... i think i will raise the pcie buss to 115 next

Do you have stock cooler in your GTS and how much is your temps?
