Hi,

My setup:

i7 - 5775C , Asus Maximus 7 Ranger z97, 16 GB ddr3 G.Skill TridentX F3-2400C10D-16GTX ( 2 x 8 GB ) , Power Supply - Cooler Master Lite 600 Watt, Cooling - Cooler Mater 240 , CPU temp at this moment 29 C.

Note:

* the cpu and ram was used on another motherboard ( AsRock Extreme 4 z97 ) and able to be overclocked to 4.2 Ghz stable , ram could be set to xmp profile and runned @2400 Mhz.

Problem description:

It could be that Ranger 7 is quite advance motherboard and I miss something in my bios settings.

1. CPU

I set core ratio to 42 and sync all cores, cache ratio to 35 , core voltage to 1.35 , Xtreme Tweaking - disabled , c-state - disabled.

After I save these settings , I can see in EzMode that CPU Turbo Max is set to 4200 Mhz , however current CPU speed is still 3600 Mhz

Also in Hw Info we can find the same information:

I really tried many You Tube tutorial but still cannot get CPU to 4.2 Ghz on this motherboard. Even if I set ratio to 37 , 38 and so on , it is still on 3600 Mhz ....

2. RAM

16 GB ddr3 G.Skill TridentX F3-2400C10D-16GTX ( 2 x 8 GB ) - when I use XMP Profile 1 or 2 with many kinds of timings ( default for 2400 and also tired different values ) , Boot freezes on qcode 23.

The only setting that works for now, is to set Manual mode instead of XMP , then set freq to 1866 Mhz , voltage to 1.65 , timing to 8,9,9,24,2 , and this is maximum what I could get so far. Everything above 1866 is giving me boot freeze and qcode 23.

Can you guys help me to bring my Hardware to 4.2 Ghz all the time without freq down, Ram to 2400 Mhz or at least 2133 Mhz.

Best Regards
Jakub
