Gigabyte M61P-S3 & Onboard Sound

I just got this motherboard today, and it has been an absolute nightmare trying to get everything to work on it. The biggest problem is the onboard sound, which just does not want to work - does anyone know how to make this function at all?

I have tried the following:
- "Xpress Install" of drivers immediately upon reinstallation (twice)
- Manual installation of drivers immediately upon reinstallation (also twice)
- Xpress Install after removal of installed drivers
- Downloading latest driver from Realtek
- Downloading latest drivers from Gigabyte
