I need to replace the PSU on my FreeNAS server. The board is an older Fujitsu/Siemens, it is an ATX format but the is a second power cable connected to the mobo, it's thin, flat and has 8 pins in it, any ideas what it is or what voltages it talks?

Yep. You could probably get away with using a decent PSU without the 8 pin connector and adding one to it.

I've just been reminded that I could just use the FreeNAS live CD. So I'll do that and order a new NAS setup anyway.

Thanks for the help.

Anyway I'm not convinced that there only two of the pins are used, all of them are wired into something with in the PSU.
