780i no sound

I have an evga 780i sli motherboard and recently the sound has stopped working. I am using vista ultimate 64bit version and when I had a look in the playback devices under the control panel I was supprised to see that my speakers were reported as not working and not plugged in but they are working and they are plugged in.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
