just installed a new QX9650 and checked my temps in Coretemp 0.97 before I did anything.

VID: 1.1000
Cores: 45 45 51 51 idle!

Probably a contact problem, but I thought, why not get the latest coretemp first.

Coretemp 0.99 says

VID: 1.2125
Cores: 45 45 51 51 idle!

So, what's up with the VID?! Was the 97 version not right? I'm going to reseat the waterblock to see if that fixes the idle temps

thanks

intel does not measure idle temps well anymore so don't worry about idle temps just your max TC

is that maxi's old chip? :p

na, i wish i would have bought that one. i messed up :bang head

edit: yeah, i don't know what's up with cpu-z (1.45) and core temp (0.99). i'm overclocking now at 380 x 10 = 3800 in BIOS. yet cpu-z is reporting my multiplier as 9 (380 x 9 = 3420). and core temp is reporting my fsb is 422 (422 x 9 = 3800). not sure what to believe on that VID now... lol
