Monitor Buttons Not Working...

I'm having an issue with my monitor. When I press the menu buttons nothing happens then after several seconds my screen messes up for a few seconds and has lines all over it.
Got no idea what is causing it since I have never had this problem. I built my new system about 3 days ago and didn't have this issue till tonight.
Anyone got any idea?

Forgot to mention its a Samsung 955DF CRT monitor.

Time for a new monitor?

Buttons still are not working, and now screen is flickering pretty bad. I have tried several different resolutions/refresh rates and they all flicker =(.
It has to be my monitor, new system wouldn't cause these problems would it?
I'm guessing same storm that fried old system also damaged monitor.
Could it harm my video card/system to use this monitor? I really can't afford a new monitor for a few weeks...
