My friend wanted me to put something together for him at the budget of 2500..but im not too savy with whats new and whats the best stuff out..so can someone lend an opinion to make sure everything looks fine..

You have come at a time when things have just changed a good but, especially in the GPU world. Nvidia is out and ATI is in.

With that in mind:
Q6600
Asus Rampage
2x4850's
Faster than the 8800GT's. He could also wait on the 4870's due out in a couple weeks.
4GB G.SKill PC8500

WD 640GB Hard Drive get how many you need for space. They are faster than the 7200.11's
Zerotherm HSF Much better than the Zalman and close enough to the 120 Extreme without worrying about getting a bad base.

I don't use sound cards but I have heard good things about that one. The monitor is fine. Don't even think about getting that monster cable. Go to mono price or somewhere similar and get one for $5. The burner is fine. I am not up on tuners so I'll skip that one, good brand though.

I don't like the case but that's just me. I am liking the Cosmos right now, or an Evo Stacker. PSU isn't bad but I would go with a 750W Corsair.
