What connection have I missed? It wont turn on and it did before I moved it over.
I moved everything from a small case to a larger one because the CPU fan was directly behind the PSU so it overheated and made scorch marks on the side of the PSU box too but when I put it back together in the new case it doesn't turn on.

I think its to do with the wires I am holding in the 1st pic and I reckon they go into the connector I am holding it infront of but I have already tried every combination I think of and they SHOULD have been straight forwards because they have labels on.

If you need any more info or pics to help you guys help me solve it, just ask.

Edit: More info:
There is no power switch cable, its only an old 422 pin CPU and the only cable I took out of the motherboard from the PSU was the long bar one which I have already replaced.

I cant tell what kind of motherboard it is from looking but when it boots up it shows a splash for QDI mainboards KinetiZ 7T

Edit:More Info:
Ok, I have the lead marked PWR Led going across the 3x6 pins counting down on the right. The HDDLED across 1x2 and the reset (marked blue) where you said.
I also have a lead marked SB S/W going across 7x8 and that lead leads to the power button on the front of the case.

Actually I got it, If i cross the speaker pins it turns on, so I connected the reset button to it (the power button skips one pin and doesn't work) But now i have a new problem, it shows onscreen a message saying

"Nvidia GeForce MX440 Bios
version 4.17.4E.69.IP
Copywright (C) 1996-2002 NVIDIA Corp
64.00MB RAM"

And that's it....
doesn't get any further and the screen doesn't change.

:welcome:Is that your 4 pin CPU plug hanging right out front in the picture? If it is, It should probably be plugged into the MB, Because of the wires I can't see if you have anything plugged into the 4/8 pin CPU plug in.

That looks to be an old enough board that it may well not have the 4 pin.

I have a few of those boards still.

OP, gimme the make and model of the MB please. I will try to pull some info up on it.

If the cpu made scorch marks on the PSU, it may have gotten too hot and died, although I dont think it would have made it as far as it did with a dead cpu, so I think youre ok there.
Id try removing the cmos jumper, unpluging the power cable, and letting it sit for a few minutes, then try again.

I also recommend trying to start it by using the power switch, it may be the source of your problem, and it could cause something to short out and die (like your sound)

Have you tried putting the switches on these pins?
(Removed, I made a boo-boo)

Ok, I have made a bit of progress.
Someone messaged me a link to Build a pc, connections and I also removed CMOS just incase.
I got it onto a screen once showing where it checks for CD's in drives (I know this because I put Ubuntu on it before I reformatted) but it sticks there.

I'll go take more pics and upload here.
So far so good, thanks guys.

Looks like it might be a kt-133 of some kind. @op: Make and model of mobo would definitely be useful.

scorch marks? Or just dirty kind of embedded on the paint?

From the fan and grease and smoke and who knows what else in the air..

probably just burnt on dust. Its still working clearly, its just I'm making up the human error part of the equation.

That is the Power LED that you have marked in red, that does NOT go where the red square is.. That goes on the top of the right row.

Wouldn't the power switch cable/wire come from the front panel of the "new" case?
Most of the cases I've worked with did.
The "power on" jumper pins look like 16/18 or 14/16 pins(2pin on the top right, counting down).
Did you try jump starting it with a screwdriver?

The power switch cable comes with the case. Its the cable that goes from the power on button on the front of the case to the motherboard. That cable is missing from the pics.

You have the other case cables there such as the reset switch, HHD and power led, but where is the power switch cable that is also supposed to be with those cables?
