Hello over the Last 15yrs or so , i was a AMD fan ,i have finally made the leap to intel with the help and support of my Wife

DSCN2084.jpg

So off to Neweeg I go ,so i thought i would start of with getting the case 1st that took me about 1 week to find ,so i went with a the Phanteks Enthoo Pro.
The Reason i went with this Case is because to me its low profile ,Black ,window and you can hide the USB ,Mic ,headphone jacks and reset button ,it has plenty of air filters and alot of room for fans and liquid cooling
another reason why i like this case is the Cable management and the two SSD Brackets on the back of the motherboard tray ,removable HDD cages and its a full tower ...GOT it for $99

something was missing on the case so for the next 2weeks i went looking for a decal that i wanted to put on my window ,i didnt know what i wanted but i found it ,it is a Grim Reaper Nevermore ,1st Picture of course is the original

My first piece of hardware i got was the motherbord, to make a long story short was an Asus board ,i was unhappy with it i did a full refund rma, the reason is that only one RAM slot worked
So i went with Another board and that was an EVGA z170 Classified k , i went with this board after a friend recommend it to me plus i never had one problem with EVGA products , i like this board after looking at it over and over, is the M.2 ,Onboard power, reset, clear cmos buttons and the dual bios and it matches my color scheme of my system

Well the CPU was the next thing i didnt need nothing to big so i went with the 6700k just incase ,i know it can be overclocked and it will handle any game ,to me anything higher then this would be a waste of money so i put it else where

Then ordered myself an EVGA 1070SC Black Edition to replace my EVGA 970 FTW+

Next was the RAM, I went with G.skill like i always have in the past and i have been reading the reviews from the forum that im a part of overclockers.com, so i went with the TridentZ

Forgot to get pictures of the ram i will edit and get them

Ok the final piece to get the PC up and running is the PSU ,i got a good deal on the PSU I got i know it way over kill , but atleast i have it just incase ,and its a Corsair RM1000 got it for $175 now its over $200

If you noticed i have to put the card in this slot cause of the O/I shroud the reason is here to why i did what i did
if you look all the pictures closely you can see i had me reasons
http://forums.evga.com/Z1...O-Shroud-m2602901.aspx

pc.png
pc1.png

If you look closely the bottom of the I/O shroud would block the GFX from sitting properly so therefor i would have to place it in the next slot down for now

pc2.png

This is the 1st Time doing a log not sure if this is how you do one but I'm proud of my system , what do you all think

Updates:

Changes

Cut the bottom of i/o shroud so gfx could fit now mind you ,look at that picture (4th) and see how close it is to the GFX crd after cutting it

very nice build xrogerx.
it's a shame evga missed it with the io shroud.
have you noticed the large amount of tim on factory gpu coolers?
there has to be some thing to that.

nice build

That IO shroud is really annoying also on other boards. ASUS made the same in couple of their motherboards. Especially Rampage V was pain with some graphics cards. I still have somewhere 3 shrouds from ASUS boards because I was sending them to RMA without it and support was always installing new one without any question.

1000 watt psu seems like overkill to me

yes that's why i said what i said its over kill , but it was a good price and a good company and a 5yr warranty and have the power incase i need it

Looks like a nice system with all the trimmings WB

Ty for the kinds words

very nice build xrogerx.

Yes its a shame about the I/O Shroud but i EVGA was trying to tell me the card should fit with out no issues so i sent them those pictures
and then they seen what i was talking about ,they need to make room for thicker back plates or make small adjustment to the Shroud even with
their stock back plates on that card it still wasn't sitting right
and for the TIM on the factory GPU on this cooler there was a little to much on there

and Woomack

those IO shrouds are really annoying but nice , love the looks of them as they hide the ugly lol
like i said above they need to make room for thicker back plates or make small adjustment to the Shroud even with
their stock back plates

Real nice build XRogerX ! Very impressed with the rear panel mod to make the card fit. Very nicely done!

thanks i had to find a way to make it fit some how and that's the only way i thought of , but i hope they come up with something better in the future
