remote desktop for ubuntu server

whats the best way to remote desktop from a windows computer to a linux server? my server is in another room and i want to be able to remote desktop it but i cant seem to find anything for the server version of ubuntu just the desktop version, if anyone has any advice that would be great thanks in advance

EDIT never mind after long searches i figured it out, for anyone who wants to know, download putty for windows

i tried getting vnc server working but gave up and putty worked as soon as i downloaded
