David801644 mentioned that the instructions here:

http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=116971&p=1

would set up GPU folding in native linux (Ubuntu and probably Debian), and install FahMon as well.

The instructions were very clear, and I got it to work, although I'm a Linux noob of the first order. :p

Now David801644 says:
Stay away from playing with the drivers as the drivers given in Ubuntu 9.04 are cuda ready and great.

Just need to be activated. The rest of the guide is spot on.

So, I'm goofed with the wrong driver(s) -- maybe. Like any good follower of Bart Simpson, I know just what to do - blame somebody else ==> David801644! :p :p

Can anyone tell me what the right sequence of commands would be then, to install this correctly, with the good Ubuntu 9.04 drivers?

Also, how can I tell what drivers my gpu folder is using in Ubuntu, right now?

How does one "activate" a driver in Ubuntu?
Thanks

With 9.04 you can just use the drivers in the repository. Go to the restricted drivers manager under System -> Administration-> Restricted Drivers Manager, and enable them. The guide is okay, but I personally feel like he just ripped most of it from our wiki, that Zerix01 mostly did (http://gpu2.twomurs.com)

Thanks, :)

I mean to start the guide from where he is talking about installing wine, if you have only one GPU

PS: I am also a Linux noob, of the first order...

sudo nvidia-xconfig --enable-all-gpus

Interesting, I never found that command and thus ended up with my explanation of finding which address each card is located on and then editing the xorg.conf file.

I'll have to try that out. Do you have two cards that you were able to try this on?
