Can my motherboard support this CPU?

Hey Guys, I have an old school

Asus p5wd2-e premium 775 socket.

I wanted to pick up a Core 2 Q9400 and wanted to know if my mainboard will support this.

Or how about the new i7?

that mobo is pretty old man the q9400 will fit in there but i dont think the bios will recognize it but im not 100% sure...

and no that board will not work with i7 for i7 u need a socket 1366 motherboard

Nop, don't think it will work even though it is LGA775. This is same as my P5GD1 PRO mobo, it is LGA775 but the chipset is incompatible.

according to Asus can't even support core2's
