Dell has finally posted Ubuntu Jaunty for people with Dell Laptop and Boxes it has some customization of their own that fixed issues many dell laptops had with ubuntu jaunty jackalope (mostly audio issues)

just tried it tonight, its ok works out the box and fixes most of the annoying things which did not work on the XPS1530
Even installs the fingerprint reader software you just need to configure it

are you able to open /var/log/messages??? mines gives me an error, also i cant run dmesg

im capable of opening /var/log/messages without issue.

im back on mint though, installed Dellbuntu on a spare drive just to see how it was different in general its not, it just has all the stuff you would go and get anyway.

I got everything to work, everything is installed on it you have to configure it
