Battery question

I have a compaq F700, it has a 6 cell 10.8v 4700 mAh battery. I want to upgrade to a 12 cell, but what I found is the 12 cell ones have 11.1v (9600mAh). Is that OK for that extra voltage? I certainly don't want to fry anything!

I did find a 12 cell battery thats 10.8v, but it's only 8800 mAh and it's $1 more (more concerned about the amperage obviously LOL).
