Quick sound question

Hey guys i just built on a m4a87td evo MB, and i was wondering if the 8 channel HD audio on thermotherboard is better than my good ol audigy 2 z5 soundcard.
only because of the recent advances in MB's is why im asking this question. this is a good, but old soundcard. thanks for any help guys
