Hi, Overclockers!

I recently built a new computer, I am using the HDMI output to connect to the LG M227WDP monitor. Should I use HDMI output or the DVI output, is there a difference?

Does the LG M227WDP monitor have drivers you should install?

Thanks for helping!

The video portion of HDMI and (single-link) DVI are the same. In fact, you can get an adapter or cable that will simply convert one to the other. The only real reason to choose HDMI over DVI is if you are wanting to send audio over the cable as well.

[Also, it's worth noting the HDMI 1.3 is limited to less than 2560x1600 resolution (same for single-link DVI). So if you were to go with a 30" monitor you would need a dual-link DVI cable.]
