I am unsure of what mobo I have but would like to try my first overclock. my dxdiag says:

It looks like you have a 680i chipset board. Download CPU-Z and check the "Mainboard" tab to check your board. Like below:

that is it thanks I just didn't see anything about an Nvidia board. If every post is a self potrait then I am drawing in crayons. Thanks again
 
You have to start somewhere...and it doesn't take long to go from crayons to fancy ink-pens :)
Once you identify the board maker and model, you can then find a manual (most likely available online) and see if any overclocking options exist for it.
Then you can view the applicable sticky for your type of rig, and you can take it from there.
You can overclock the video card also, but the best place to find out how would be in the video card topic.
Good luck, and I hope your board has the options that you need for a successful overclock.
