When trying to view movies on windows media player I get codec error?

Is there anyway to view every movie you download off the internet? I get codec errors alot. How do you get the right codecs?

Divx is a common Codex used.

What sort of movie file you trying to watch (Movie trailors etc)?

Mods hope this is ok. Guys Becareful where this leads to ok :)
