im also new to water cooling. i was just wondering whether a xspc rasa 750 rx 240 kit and the koolance copper core cu 420v high flow 120mm rad will sufficiently cool i7 2700k hopefully oced to about 4.5 on 1.36 vcore and 2 gtx 580's oced to 797 core clock and stock frequency clock.
my specs are:
Corsair Graphite 600t White Edition,
Asus Maximus IV Extreme - Z
CM silent pro gold 1200
twin kingston hyperx 120g ssd.

I've moved your post to it's own thread to keep it's discussion separate and easier to deal with.

Do you mean will pumps cool your rig? No, they actually add heat to it, though only about 20W or so for most of em. Or the RX240 and a 120mm Koolance rad? No for that too, not even a little bit close...I think you needa read the sticky again, you're looking at well over 500W of heat that you want to dissipate through 120.3, which isn't even the beginnings of realistic if you want it to be cool and quiet. It seems to me like you're trying to WC on a budget, have you considered used parts?

Also, the Koolance rads are ... well... Kinda bottom of the barrel.

And that pump/res that comes with the kit is pretty weak. You'll end up spending over $100 replacing it in the first 6 months to a year methinks.

You really don't understand the heatload you make and how radiators dissipate heat. Your going to have to read a LOT even before you even choose one single part. You buy stuff with no clue why and it's a disaster and dissapointment waiting to happen.

Methinks you need to start with the stickies...

and here too.

I know this is a bit of the blind leading the blind here but i just went through the whole process of getting into water cooling. I had a very similar journey to the one you are now and when it was all said and done I made the decision to step up to a full custom loop.

The pros really outweigh the cons here. (The only cons being decision making and cost)

If you have any questions or concerns I am always down for a pm and I can, at the very lease, tell you how my build went and the options that I ultimately ended purchasing.

If you do decide to stick with your plan of a budget build i would say ask yourself a couple of questions.

1. Why are you water cooling?
2. Also why do you want the 4.5ghz overclock?
3. How much can you really spend?

Until you address those questions you really should not be making any concrete decisions. If you're going with water simply because you can that is one thing, but if it is something you have always wanted to do, and have wanted it for a while but never pulled the trigger, you would be better off doing it right the first time around. Your overclock of 4.5ghz, this seems like a nice happy number you pulled off the internet, which in itself is ok, but what will you do with that speedy cpu. If it is so you can sit on it and look at nice numbers when you run realtemp, maybe reconsider! And finally in regards to your total budget, i would hate to see you spend a nearly 200 dollars on a kit, just to turn around and spend another 100-150 bucks fixing your mistakes.

Trust me, take your time and research this beast of an upgrade before you make the leap!!!

It is worth it to wait.

ok, the feedback has been great, and after looking through all this, i've decided to screw the kit and go with my own choosings. as u ppl know, my case is the 600t spec white edition, it has a mesh filter that can support 4 120mm fans, i was thinking if i could somehow squeeze maybe 2 240mm or if its 2 much stress on the mesh, 1 240 or even 2 120mm. ok here goes:

I got a bridge to sell you, or you have 5 million from a cousin waiting in Nigeria. GAA YOU HAVE NO CLUE. QUIT CLICKING and use your BRAIN LEARN DARNIT.

I should hopefully have to quit this attention getting super font. Most new folks don't need this, and if they need a repeated NUKE font, they should buy a Dell or a MAC.

You do know, from your extensive reading of soooo manyyy posts and reviews and guides, that this is the standard D5 pump from Laing. There are at least 5 companies that rebadge this. In many posts it's mentioned that the D5 is weak for a modern loop, but still decent. Have you even looked at the Laing offerings in the 3.2 range? Prolly not, your stiil watching HBC on the TV and choosing the stuff they need to sell like other lemmingsss....................

Sure, you can buy stuff that is from 5 years ago by the MOST hated watercooling company in the whole world. You can buy magic, and fail. Gaaa, your stuff dude.

GRRR. Many do great. We want to help, I need to get your attention an went wayyy overboard. You can cuss me, and leave, or stay and build a great rig. We build great first rigs, one the new folks understand what's involved/

Back to your normal programing, nothing to read here.

i am scared, very, very, very scared... ok... i think im getting it now..., parents also getting angry that ive met this guy online whos raging, but thats beside the point.
ok, how bout i go through my things again,
2 gtx 580's,
graphite 600t spec white,
i7 2700k (hopefully) oced about 4.5ghz or lower if i need it.
remember i cant get anything more than a 240mm rad, and i only have Black ICe, XSPC and Koolance to choose from, coz pccg doesn't have any other.
oh yea and i want the parts hopefully finalised and bought by december 9th, so plenty of time to brainstorm :D

ohi forgot the gtx 580's put out almost 800watts, only if i run furmark, but other than that its about 600-700 and the i7 im guessing is over 150watts, coz i no my i5 2500k oced to 4.5 puts out ALMOST 200, so yea...

at the moment im using 2500k, but parents said yes to 2700k so ya

alright well heres the thing, the 2700 is basically just a 2600k clocked by default a little higher than the 2600k. if you have a look at a couple benchies, youll see that theres almost no difference between the two at all. i dunno what kinda prices they sell for (cbf to look right now) but id imagine the tiny gain you get from the 2700k compared to a 2600k is absolutely not worth it. going from a 2500k to a 2700k isnt really much of an upgrade anyways imo. personally im waiting for the ivybridge cpus, however i heard they jacked up the price cause amd's bulldozer cpus arent really that impressive. oops kinda got off topic here, my bad
