I've got the upgrade itch, so I'll make this quick...

First and foremost, will my MB accept i5-3570?

Is it worth the hassle and money to upgrade to i5-3570?

Is it worth the hassle and money to switch to i5-2500k? I have no intention of an aggressive OC, just something mild to keep things cool and faster.

I believe I can pick up a used 2500k for approx $180 and sell my 2500(non k) for whatever eBay fetches.

Thoughts? Maybe I need a smack on the head and just wait another 12 months...

Don't really think it's worth the money or hassle to switch your CPU right now. You can sort of overclock the non-K versions, you can up the Turbo Multiplier by a few, push the BLCK as far as it will go, and then set the Windows power managment to high performance to force it to always turbo.

Thanks guys. That was easy enough. Not that this rig is lagging, but you know how the upgrade itch feels, especially when new tech comes out.

I guess I'll blow the money on a new Colt 6920 AR15. haha

Maybe I'll post a pic of that "rig" when it comes in...
