Laing DDC-1T 10w -> 18w mod, worth it? plus 3pin mod?

Hey guys,

I got myself a nice Laing DDC- 1T, its the 10w model.

I am aware that there is a mod for this pump, and the one I have is a great candidate for it, but is it worth it?

From what i understand it takes the RPM from 3900 to 4500 at max?

I also would love to mod it to 3 pin fan connector for hooking up to fan controller.

The blue is RPM, I assume anyway, manuel is in German which i dont speak.

If I made this into a 3pin, it would be fine to run off the fan controller right?

So long as it is 1.5GPM flow at that speed in your loop, it isnt worth it, no.

Okay, so i sat down and read Cons thread on the GPM, and i am non the wiser now. I understand that GPM is something to do with the flow rate, but how does one measure it? How do I know what mine would be at?

The specs of the pump show the GPM... not sure how to figure it out with things in the loop but... yeah.

To check it within the loop you need a flow meter.

An unmodded DDC T-1 has a positive PSI of 3.5 - 3.8, deduct everything from that (rads, blocks, tubing,..) and if you are still positive, you are probably golden
