Obviously crossfire7870 would stomp the 7950 BUT it(7950) has more video ram.

So that's my question. I play at 1080p battlefield 4.. Might get a bigger monitor. I have 220$ to spend on another GPU.

Would it be smarter to buy a 7870 and run crossfire. With 2 GB of video ram

Or buy a 7950 which is only 15$ more with 3 GB video ram.

Which would be the more future proof decision. HELP!

THANKS :)

P.s. I sit pretty close to a 40 inch TV so I LOVE anti aliasing

You won't be maxing bf4 with either. You'll be vram limited by the 7870s but power limited by the 7950. However I would personally still go the single 7950 route IMO. Or a 7970 if you can manage the funds (sell your 7870?)

If I can find a cheap 7970 I'll go that route. I'm very satisfied with my single 7870 and bf4 performance I'm current running everything on max but I'm playing on small screen (1600x900) rather than my TV at the moment.

I haven't noticed any problems with 2gb or video ram yet. But if this game uses all or that then most likely more games will as well

Selling graphics cards aren't my speciality lol

Yeah resolution matters. at 1600x900 a 7950 is probably just fine. But if you are at 1080p, some settings will have to be sacrificed I am sure.

You can sell here in our classifieds. ;)

I find bf4 runs fine on my 3GB vidcard, however, many nvidia cards seem to have problems with it, some amd cards included.
Whether this is due to 2GB cards I don't know. But the recommended video ram is 3GB while they state the 7870and GT660 is also recommended, these are 2GB cards.

Went with your guys advice, sold my 7870 for 130$ and picked up a 7970 @new egg for 279$ with 30$ rebate! Deal!!

Wow! 7970 I bought for 249$(rebate included) is now 369$!!!

Looks like I bought this just in time!
