1st- I know what the top-performing heatsinks are.
I have an extra Volcano 2. I just got my friend Folding on his 1.2 Tbird OEM (non-overclocked) computer. I want to give him a little moddin' so his cpu will stay cool. Its been running in the low 50's and upper 40's because its hot here in the Spring, and the retail heatsink is crap.
I was either going to-
1) Lap his heatsink and use AS3 on it.
or 2) Give him my Volcano 2, lap it, and use AS3 on it.
Are there any differences between these two sinks or are they pretty much equally crappy? I scanned the front page briefly and didn't find what I was looking for. But I'm heading back there now to be a little more thorough. Please post if you have some knowledge or opinion on the performace difference between these 2 heatsinks.
