Putting some EL cable inside my Keyboard, HOW TO?

Is EL cable bright enough? My biggest worry is not tearing apart the keyboard and inserting the EL cable, its splicing into my keyboard wire to get power to the EL that I don't like. I'm NOT good with electricity and circuits at all so if anyone knows of a really good write-up on this keyboard mod that would be great. THanks!
